Overview

Advanced Practical Topics (APT) is an optional course for first year students, held on Wednesdays in the first semester, between 14:00-17:00 in room K4U.13/14. Please note that K4U.13/14 has limited space, and students will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.

APT is for students who wish to be better informed about the breadth of possibilities in software. There are no exams or coursework for APT and it does not count in any way towards your degree. You are not required, or expected, to attend.

APT has a `Bring Your Own Laptop’ policy where students will perform various activities on their own machines. Students are welcome to work in groups of up to 3, for those who don’t have their own laptop, or who prefer group work (though the greatest benefits are likely to be gained from working individually). Sessions will be highly interactive and participation is required for those who choose to attend.
